Critique on Pamela Manalo's Gowns

Pamela Manalo, the country's delegate to the 2009 Miss Universe pageant is set to wear the following designs by Colombian designer, Alfredo Barranza.

In my honest opinion, Philippine designers can do better. It would be best to look at Imelda Marcos' archive of ternos. That's classic and authentic Filipiniana style.

Regarding the evening gown, since we cannot do anything about it, I guess here are my tips on how to carry the gown:

All she needs to do is twirl like Taliana Vargas and spin like Dayana Mendoza so that her sheer gown will "float on air". Also, she should wear a sexier panty, it will complement the sheer lower part of the gown and it will work like a champ :)


In the spirit of recycling gowns, I wish she could re-use Karla Bautista's gown instead:

If we don't want Maestro Barranza's design, might as well do something about it.

Next time, I suggest that we get our pageant representative's measurements and submit our own designs. Each designer must be able to make sure that the design is relevant and up-to-date. Let's show it to the organizers or to the candidates and let them choose.

I really wished she wore a michael cinco design...

Personal Style: "Metrosexual" Look

I wore my Ralph Lauren long sleeved shirt, Topman Skinny Jeans, People are People slip-ons and my favorite brown bag (from ukay-ukay)

Boots: Portia Natalia Galang

Portia wore a black cap sleeved shirt. She paired it with blue jeans, black belt and boots. She also accented the look with a green shawl and bag.

And yes, these boots were made for walking.

Haciendera Look: Portia Natalia Galang

Portia wearing a white cotton blouse and skinny jeans. She used her black GAP belt, leather bag and Steve Madden boots to complete the elegant haciendera look.

LBD: Sabrina Datuimam

Sabrina is an adviser in WNS Araneta. She was wearing a very nice Little Black Dress with Sabrina neckline and continous sleeves which she got on sale from Bayo. She paired it with silver slippers for that youthful appeal.
